The Service Technician tests, troubleshoots, and repairs all aspects of our access control systems. Experience with servicing CCTV, various video systems, networking (TCP/IP), and associated network routers, gateways, switches is a plus. Must be able to troubleshoot problems at customer sites and remotely. To that end, the Service Technician interacts directly with the client, client representatives, other contractors and Kastle personnel to ensure a successful service and repair solutions. The Service Technician ensures that service orders are completed accurately and on time, and that these services meet or exceed client expectations  

Responsibilities

  • Services, and repairs Kastle access control systems.
  • Interfaces with customers to insure their complete confidence in the Kastle System.
  • Verifies completed work is documented accurately and consults with manager to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintains company‑owned vehicles, tools, equipment, and individual tool issue.
  • Local Travel to worksites in the DC Metro

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED
  • 3 or more years of experience with Access Control Systems.
  • Knowledge of analog and IP camera systems (A Plus)
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP and networking
  • Knowledge of programming Network Routers, Gateways, Switches
  • Hands‑on experience with hand and power tools.
  • Basic knowledge of AC and DC theory.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use metering devices.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel.
  • Knowledge or experience with Milestone, Genetech, CheckVideo, CCT systems.
  • Knowledge of analog and IP cameras
  • Knowledge of programming digital video recorders (DVRs)


Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Must pass the Drug Test, the Background Check, and any pre-employment tests as applicable
  • Required to maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Required to obtain and be able to maintain various certifications, licenses and/or registrations, in accordance with applicable state laws and as required by the electronic security regulations in the state(s) which they are working

Physical & Mental Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, move, or carry items weighing up to 75 lbs. The employee must frequently walk, balance, climb stairs and ladders while bearing weight. Must be able to work while arms are extended above head.

This job operates in different types of environments including professional climate controlled office environment and active constructive sites.
