The Business Development Manager serves as the primary business contact for the client and is responsible for client satisfaction and revenue growth of the portfolio. The Business Development Manager is expected to consistently provide excellent customer service to accounts, and represent client needs and goals within the organization to ensure quality. In addition, the Business Development Manager will build relationships with clients to encourage new and repeat business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable to deliver growth of the portfolio in a manner consistent with corporate directives.
  • Responsible for all client communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on client deliverables and revenue.
  • Conducts the account management discipline in concert with corporate objectives
  • Reviews all major deliverables (i.e. strategic brief, function spec, tech spec, etc.) to ensure quality standards and client expectations are met.
  • Ensures that client issues are dealt with in an efficient manner, informing the General Manager of any problems that may arise.
  • Responsible for assisting in payment collections.
  • Works closely with the project team in order to maintain a continuous knowledge of project status in order to identify potential issues and/or opportunities within or related to the project.
  • Ensures that all processes and procedures are completed, quality standards are met, and that projects are profitable.
  • Aware and in pursuit of opportunities for account growth and new business, involving the Sales, Client Services, Business Development support.
  • Communicates the client's goals and represent the client's interests to the team.
  • Provides regular two-way communication between the client and team, to provide strong team representation and set proper client expectations.
  • Understanding of company capabilities and service, and effectively communicates all offerings to the client.
  • Reports to the Sales Manager, providing regular input on all account activity, including status and call reports as required.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Working knowledge and understanding of the commercial security market to be served.
  • An understanding of sales, marketing, and general business operations.

REQUIRED ACCREDIDATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
  • Successful candidates should also have the following qualifications and experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience designing and selling commercial security alarm systems. Fire, CCTV and Access Control experience a plus but not required.
  • Demonstrated track record of closing sales of complex systems or services with protracted sales cycles.
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience with sales force automation systems is a plus.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proven Account Management skills required in order to create, maintain and enhance customer relationships
  • Professional, polished in appearance and able to communicate in a detailed and articulate manner.
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Technical competence (understand software, hardware, networks, etc)
  • Motivated, goal oriented, persistent and a skilled negotiator
  • High level of initiative and work well in a team environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Handles stressful situations and deadline pressures well
  • Plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal direction
  • Must be willing to participate in and pass the company’s pre-employment screening process including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record.
  • Must continue to maintain a safe driving record and valid driver’s license to fulfill the travel requirements of this position.
  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet state licensing requirements for security.
  • Must be able to meet client background and suitability screening when required to access client’s data and/or site.
