Based upon Kastle’s growth in the market, we are seeking an Installation Video Crew Cheif, responsible for install, supervise and assist in all phases of installing, testing and troubleshooting Video systems at customer sites. To that end, the Installation Video Technician interacts directly with the client, client representatives, other contractors and Kastle personnel to ensure a successful installation. The Installation Video Crew Chief will assist the Project Manager planning, scheduling and coordinating activities within installation to ensure that Kastle system install or change orders are provided accurately and on time, and that these services meet or exceed client expectations.


  • Install, test and troubleshoot new video systems.
  • Ensure that systems are installed properly and on time in accordance with Kastle's procedures and quality control standards. 
  • Provide feedback and information to identify any potential barriers to timely execution of the project, such as construction delays or changes.
  • Communicate with Managers and/or Project Manager to resolve discrepancies or issues.
  • Provide regular progress updates to all stakeholders.
  • Provide accurate documentation for completed work.
  • Responsible for providing proper documentation for inventory control and for maintaining proper inventory for vehicles and projects. Must be available to perform end of year and interim inventory counts.
  • Maintain assigned company-owned vehicles, tools, equipment and individual tool issue.
  • Responsible for the behavior and performance of assigned team members.
  • Coach assigned team members on the Kastle installation procedures and quality control standards. Report any issues to the department Managers.
  • Maintain and protect building keys to customer buildings.
  • Communicate with customers, customer representatives, contractors and Kastle staff as necessary to install and test equipment.
  • Stay up to date and knowledgeable in Kastle services, technology as well as internal processes and procedures


  • 3 or more years successful experience installing access control, Video systems or other related electronic systems
  • US Citizenship required
  • NVR/VMS certifications a plus   
  • IP Video Systems certifications a plus
  • DCJS License a plus but not required
  • Technical school certificate a plus but not required 
  • Competent in the setup and operation of Windows PCs and servers.
  • Knowledgeable of networking principles (IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPN, cabling).
  • Knowledge and experience with wireless networks and troubleshooting.
  • Experienced with IP video cameras, lenses, DVR, NVR, and video management systems, matrix switchers and amplifiers
  • Capable of installing and troubleshooting switches, routers, and gateways.
  • Experienced installing Ethernet and Fiber Optic networks.
  • Installs, terminates, tests, labels cables:
    • Prepares racks and power for installation of customer equipment
    • Provides remote diagnostic and troubleshooting
  • Work history must display stability and consistent attendance.
  • Demonstrated ability to accept responsibility and carry out assigned tasks with limited supervision.
  • Mechanical aptitude and thorough knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Strong electronics knowledge/background (AC/DC theory, series and parallel circuits, open/close loops) and ability and knowledge to use digital volt meters.
  • Knowledge of Serial Communication (RS232, RS485)
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to perform detailed work, being careful about detail and being thorough in completing tasks
  • Demonstrated self composure, adaptability, persistence, a high tolerance for stress and unquestionable integrity.
  • Ability to follow installation, testing, and troubleshooting procedures outlined by Kastle Systems
  • Ability and desire to work well with others and coach other technicians.
  • Ability to cooperate, being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, supportive attitude
  • Ability to write and maintain accurate daily records.
  • Ability to interface and communicate with customers and co-workers in a clear and professional manner.
  • Neat, professional appearance.
  • Available to work overtime, weeknights, and/or weekends.
  • Ability to travel frequently by automobile or public transportation, including overnight stays
  • Ability and knowledge to use computer and effectively use Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook and other Kastle internal tools to facilitate business processes
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
